Welcome to Grade 3

A very successful first 3 days of school for 2019! We have been taking about the change of expectation in Grade 3, from Grade 2.

With the help of Rex we are going over classroom rules and procedures- Rex will deliver letters to us frequently throughout the year to give us missions to complete!

We have been working on two "All About Me" art pieces:

1) Who am I? Hand - A collection of images that tells a story about the person. No words!
We will post these around the classroom and try to guess who made each one!

2) Name Puzzle - Write your name big and colorful, make a grid and cut the pieces, use these pieces to create a unique art piece!

We played some Cooperative Games:

-A Dice Story (roll the dice, use the number to tell/add to a story, ex) 5 little monkey's)
-Question Line (Ask a question, ex) Do you have a pet. If the answer is yes, you step forward. If the answer is no, you step back)
-Silent Sequencing (Without talking try to line up: from tallest to shortest, Alphabetically, ect.)

We read "Scaredy Squirrel"- Makes a Friend

We talked about what makes a good friend and things we like to do with our friend and how we can make new friends by creating a friendship kit!

We finished off the week with our first - Journal Entry

A letter to the teacher
